 Welcome to Mrs. Kistler's English 10 ADV Course
ENGLISH 10ADV
This class is designed to prepare students who have successfully completed English 9ADV. The students have mastered the grammar as presented in 9ADV and have superior reading comprehension, writing, and critical thinking skills. This course is accelerated and more demanding than the college prep level.
At the end of this course, students who have successfully completed it will be familiar with critical analysis, poetry explication, and creative responses to literature. They will continue their study of grammar and vocabulary; showing proficiency should be evident in their writing. Students will read a variety of genres from the ancient to the modern world. Some of the works include Robert Bolt's A Man for All Seasons, the Arthurian legends, William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, George Orwell's 1984, William Golding's Lord of the Flies and Sophocles' Greek Drama Antigone.
