Girl’s Physical Education (2 semesters including one quarter of health) Grades 9 and 10

Students are instructed in techniques, skills and rules, and participate actively in volleyball, volley tennis, touch football, soccer, basketball, tumbling, dance, aerobics, and softball.

Boy’s Physical Education (2 semesters including one quarter of health) Grades 9 and 10

Students are given a well-rounded program in team sports such as touch football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Individual activities are offered in track, weight training, and physical fitness.

Health (1 quarter) Grade 9

This course covers nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, affects of smoking, substance abuse, family health practices, and first aid.

Football/Weight Conditioning

Prerequisites:

  • Open to all potential varsity football players
  • Full year course (consideration may be given for students to add and/or drop at the semester)
  • Must have instructor’s approval

The goals of this course are to improve strength, conditioning and football knowledge. The students experience an extensive weight program. The running program is planned to improve foot speed and cardiovascular endurance. Film study and on the field drills are aimed at improving overall knowledge of the game of football.

Girl's Basketball (1 semester)

Prerequisites

  • Potential to be a varsity basketball player
  • Approval of girl’s varsity basketball coach
